AK Geothermal’s approach to geothermal resource assessment is integrative and holistic, with an emphasis on synthesis, suitability, and sustainability. AK Geothermal strongly believes that when utilized intelligently, geothermal energy is a clean, safe, and sustainable energy source. By providing sound geological resource assessment in combination with equal consideration of non-technical factors (such as cultural, socio-political, and economic), AK Geothermal aims to bring clarity and candor to geothermal projects in Alaska and the Western United States. Dr. Amanda Kolker received her Ph.D. in Geology from The University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2008. Her dissertation work was an integrated assessment of geothermal resources in Alaska, and their potential for producing sustainable energy for remote communities.
